We enable sellers to list their properties for free and only pay a fixed fee once verified buyers or buyers’ agents are found. We are committed to protecting your personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs). This policy explains how we collect, use, store, disclose, and protect your information when you use our platform. By using our platform, you consent to the practices described in this Privacy Policy.

When you create or attempt to create a listing on Be Your Realtor, we may collect the following information:

By listing your property with Be Your Realtor, you agree that:

  • We may use the property details, features, images, and descriptions for marketing purposes across digital platforms, social media, advertising campaigns, and other promotional activities.

  • We may disclose your property information to third parties such as buyers, buyers’ agents, advertising networks, professional advisors, or service providers engaged by us.

  • Personal details (such as your name, email, and phone number) will only be disclosed to verified buyers or buyers’ agents upon payment of the fixed fee.

We do not sell your personal details to unrelated third parties.

5. Data Retention

 

Sellers may remove their property listing at any time through the Be Your Realtor portal. However, unless you make a formal written request for deletion, we may continue to retain your data in our secure database for operational, legal, and analytical purposes. If you request removal, we will take reasonable steps to permanently delete or anonymise your personal information, subject to legal and regulatory requirements.

 

6. Security of Information

 

We take reasonable steps to safeguard your personal information from misuse, loss, unauthorised access, modification, or disclosure. This includes technical, administrative, and physical security measures. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure. While we strive to protect your data, we cannot guarantee its absolute security.

 

7. Access and Correction

 

Under the Privacy Act, you have the right to:
